‘This Is Us’ star on the cover of Maxim
“We got into the business because we believed in the future.
And I believe in the promise of this generation.
We believe that a generation of kids can be so much better than the one that came before them.”
—Spencer Pratt”The thing about this is, we’re not just making an adult show.
We’re making a show that is about the future, and the future of tomorrow.”
—Mandy MooreOn The CW series “The Originals,” “the future is now” is the key message.
The CW is betting big on that future.
On the one hand, it’s about how the world looks from the perspective of its newest generation.
On the other hand, the show is also exploring a darker side to its characters, including one who looks like his mother.
“This is Us” star Mandy Moore has revealed her family’s history with drugs.
“The whole premise of the show, the whole idea of this series, is that our family is not who it seems, but we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves,” Moore told USA Today.
“And it’s just amazing how powerful that is.”
The series’ third season, set to premiere in 2019, is also set to examine a darker future.
But while the story is grounded in reality, “The New Normal” is also a reflection of a culture that still struggles to make sense of the “rebirth” of humanity.
“This is not a normal time.
This is not normal at all,” Moore said.
While the series is set in the 1960s, it also deals with the realities of contemporary life in the era.
“We have a lot of things that we can say are normal, but they’re not normal anymore,” Moore continued.
“When we are in the middle of the crisis that we’re in, we know we’re being in the spotlight.
And when we’re at the end of the day, we feel the need to get the attention.
That’s what we’re going to do.
That is what we are doing.”
Moore said that while the show has dealt with drugs, the reality of the drug use is also part of its storytelling.
“Our characters are just like you and me, but in a completely different context.
And we’re looking at the world from that perspective.
We are taking the drugs that are out there, but at the same time, we are looking at this world as an alternate reality, and our world as a mirror,” Moore added.
The show is being shot on location in Los Angeles, which has been a favorite of Moore’s.
“Every day that we do this job, it feels like we’re moving back in time,” she said.
“It’s such a special place.
I feel like we’ve been transported to another era, and that’s what makes it so special.”
As for what viewers can expect in “The Next Generation,” the actress explained that the show will follow a different cast.
“I would love to be able to bring people into this world that have never seen it,” she added.
“For me, it would be like I was going to a different world, and they would be the ones that we were able to get to know and that we could tell our stories with.”
